ferns rest
ferns rest
after another good year
will grow again
two poems: restful to read and seasons in the gardens

poetry books read before
autumn morning
seasons in the gardens
older now and perhaps
not as many flowers
but rather the perennials
that grow bloom
always return
place
new place
on a shelf for a plant
October sun
gift
predawn
and watching
the sky grow light
gift of another day
to read and write
small
small steps
one day at a time
sparrows in the yard
poem and photos
evergreen trees
decorated with
gold leaves that
have come to rest
on their branches
later there will
be snow and perhaps
a few Christmas lights
for now though
what could be
more lovely?
