seasons in the gardens
older now and perhaps
not as many flowers
but rather the perennials
that grow bloom
always return

seasons in the gardens
older now and perhaps
not as many flowers
but rather the perennials
that grow bloom
always return

my heart sees
what is no longer here
buildings and changes
over time
my heart sees
people I knew
and gardens that grew
in different places
I write from my heart
and my heart sees
in new ways again

summer garden
some plants rest
some grow

growing older
goldenrod and roses
refreshed by rain
Poem from 2010.
now that I know
their name
I see them everywhere
hydrangeas

today’s sun
shines on old books
new again

reading poetry
many different forms
seasons turn again
always familiar
always new

so many ways
to say thank you
snowdrops

reading a book
I bought used
some time ago
words that bless
today
